Quantum Media Systems Demonstrates New Performance Features of Enhanced XDR Pro Cinema Video Wall During CEDIA Expo 2024

Quantum brings its multi-award-winning LED Video Wall back for another showing at CEDIA Expo, offering attendees an exclusive look at the features and functionality of the industry’s most highly acclaimed residential video wall.

Denver, Colorado (August 23, 2024) — During CEDIA Expo 2024, attendees have the unique opportunity to experience Quantum’s enhanced XDR Pro Cinema Video Wall at several distinct locations throughout the Convention Center. Each exhibit will showcase a different configuration of the video wall, demonstrating the remarkable design versatility and superior performance of Quantum’s groundbreaking solution. Unlike conventional video walls, the XDR Pro Cinema was specifically designed and engineered for luxury residential environments. It features a host of advanced technologies and design innovations that ensure the pristine presentation of the diverse media typically enjoyed at home.

Quantum will demonstrate several significant enhancements of its multi-award-winning video wall throughout CEDIA Expo in Room #207. To create an immersive home theater experience, a 20-foot-wide Cinemascope-format XDR Pro Cinema Video Wall will be complemented by a full range of seamlessly integrated third-party products, including a high-end surround-sound system, acoustical treatments, media servers, power management system, and control system.

“The demo we have planned for CEDIA Expo 2024 will be even more impressive than demos of years past. With exciting new capabilities like adherence to the DCI standard, which affords the XDR Pro Cinema Video Wall access to exclusive content on Hollywood’s Bel Air Circuit, attendees are sure to be blown away,” says Quantum Media Systems owner Ken Hoffman. “We can only wonder how AV gurus like John Sciacca and Todd Anderson will react after such glowing remarks about the video wall at CEDIA Expo last year.”

–John Sciacca, Residential Systems

… From the second the green-band trailer popped on screen, it was clear how vibrant, sharp, and bright the image was. I’d say it looked like a giant, 18-foot-wide OLED, but at up to 1500 nits, it was much brighter and, obviously, way more engaging. And the Kaleidescape cover art screen — something we’re all pretty familiar with at this point — has never looked better, with colors that just leapt off the giant screen. Quantum Media’s panels have been designed for the high-end residential market from the ground up, and part of its secret sauce is its full calibration services, which include “Pixel Alignment Calibration,” along with full on-site chroma alignment, grayscale and color space calibration for REC709, DCI-P3, and REC2020, and full system optimization of every AV source, ensuring each install has optimal performance. If I could have just one thing from the show…

–Todd Anderson, AV Nirvana

… The XDR3 is, hands down, the best big-screen video image I’ve ever seen… and it’s not a stretch that other show attendees felt the same way. Boasting rich blacks, impeccable brightness, and mind-blowing details, Quantum’s latest offering was completely devoid of tile lines while delivering an image that looked better than reality.

Dealers, consultants and designers interested in providing their customers with a state-of-the-art LED video wall purpose-built for residential environments can contact Quantum at info@quantummediasystems.com to schedule an appointment. Quantum will host several showings throughout each day of the CEDIA Expo.

CEDIA Expo attendees can also visit Quantum’s Booth #4121, where a 10-foot wide 1.2mm XDR Pro Cinema Video Wall will be featured. Additionally, based on the overwhelmingly positive feedback from last year’s attendees, Quantum is returning to the Kaleidescape Booth #2543 with an even more spectacular 18-foot-wide Cinemascope-format video wall.

Members of the media can attend a press-only demonstration on Friday, September 6, 8-9 a.m. in Room #207. Quantum executives will be on hand to explain the Video Wall features, technology and answer questions.

Kordz Revolutionizes Network Installations with Enviro-Friendly BeltPak

Kordz Revolutionizes Network Installations with Enviro-Friendly BeltPak

Innovative and award-winning packaging solution debuts at CEDIA Expo 2024, enhancing efficiency, sustainability and profitability for systems integrators.

August 23, 2024Kordz, a leader in high-performance cabling solutions, proudly introduces BeltPak, an innovative packaging solution set to streamline installation and minimize the waste normally associated with cabling installation. Exhibited for the first time to the CEDIA channel, BeltPak tackles one of the most tedious and time-consuming tasks in the field—the removal of individual patch cords from traditional, single-use packaging.

BeltPak addresses this issue with its efficient, user- and eco-friendly design: a 10-pack ‘belt’ of Kordz’ best-selling patch cords housed in perforated, tear-off packs made from robust yet 100 percent recyclable paper—even the cable ties are made of paper. The compact value pack format not only saves time and money but also reduces the cost of transporting, storing and disposing of bulky packaging materials. Integrators can easily count, carry and sling over their shoulders the exact number of cords needed, all while keeping their hands free for other tasks. The enviro-friendly packaging is quickly torn open and easily disposed of.

All things considered, the Kordz PRO SlimCat Patch Cord BeltPak delivers systems integrators incredible value on top of all the popular performance features of the PRO SlimCat line, such as the flexibility and compactness of the cable and termination ease of a snap-proof connector.

BeltPak has already garnered multiple awards for its groundbreaking approach and is expected to be a game-changer for systems integrators eager to streamline operations and become greener in their installation practices. Attendees of CEDIA Expo 2024 are invited to visit the Kordz booth, #3823, to experience this innovative solution firsthand.

As former integrators, we understand the time, tedium and labour involved in opening dozens, if not hundreds, of individual patch cord packages before installation can even begin. It’s a task nobody enjoys, it can put the integrity of the patch cords at risk and then there’s all the plastic waste to dispose of,” says Kordz managing director, James Chen. “The foundational aim of our business at Kordz has always been to make integrators’ jobs easier and more profitable. BeltPak is one more way we are delivering on this promise. A simple change in packaging design can make a huge difference to an integrator’s business while meeting the increasing demand for timesaving, cost-efficient tech solutions that reduce our environmental footprint.

Kordz has long placed aspects of sustainability at the heart of its product development, more recently, taking steps to shorten the global supply chain and minimise waste through better packaging and production methodologies. Numerous other initiatives are underway to reduce the environmental footprint of its product range and manufacturing processes.

BeltPak, as well as other connectivity solutions in Kordz’ extensive product portfolio, reflect this commitment as well as Kordz’ user-centric design process known as “Kordzification.” More than just a technological update or adherence to the latest standards, the concept of “Kordzification” is about optimizing connectivity products for professional use. It’s about understanding what integrators truly need to achieve better results, more efficiently and profitably. This mindset shift emphasizes innovation, quality and reliability, ensuring that integrators can enjoy an easier installation experience that delivers superior outcomes for their clients.

Somfy North America Debuts Powerful PoE Motor for Large Window Covering Installations

The new Sonesse® 40 PoE motor from Somfy empowers systems integrators with the installation flexibility of networked ethernet cabling, various torque options for large-format applications, and seamless integration with third-party control systems.

DAYTON, NJ (August 23, 2024) – Somfy, the global leader for interior window coverings and exterior solar protection, announced today the debut of the Sonesse® 40 PoE motor range. One year after launching the smallest PoE motor on the market — the Sonesse® 30 PoE motor — Somfy now complements its lineup with a customizable solution for larger-sized applications.

The new Sonesse 40 PoE motor offers systems integrators the installation flexibility of Power over Ethernet technology. By delivering power and data signals to the motor on a single Cat-5e/Cat-6 Ethernet cable, PoE reduces the amount of time and cabling required, which results in a faster and less labor-intensive installation. Since no dedicated AC electrical wiring or electrical outlet is needed, systems integrators can handle the installation without a licensed electrician and without being constrained by the proximity of electrical outlets. Because PoE is inherently compatible with IP networked systems, Sonesse 40 PoE motor-driven shades and screens can be easily integrated into a complete smart home network. Additional PoE motor-driven products and devices can be added to the network, giving systems integrators a simple, complete, and economical ecosystem.

Sonesse 40 PoE motors provide a full range of options, available in three sizes–2, 4 and 6Nm–to operate even the largest of applications. The adoption of the new IEEE 802.3bt Standard enables PoE switches to deliver up to 90W, which is significantly more power than the original 15W IEEE 802.3af standard. As a result, a wider range of powered devices can be supported on the network, including 6Nm motors for shades.

Despite being one of the strongest and most robust motors on the market, the UL-listed Sonesse 40 PoE is remarkably quiet and compact, moving fabrics smoothly and capable of fitting narrow windows with smaller tube profiles, which helps preserve visual aesthetics and maintain unimpeded views.

Enhancing the Sonesse 40 PoE motor is the Somfy Synergy™ API, which allows for simple, direct integration with leading third-party control systems, like Control4, Crestron, Crestron Home, URC, ELAN, and RTI. This precludes the need for additional gateways and user interfaces to operate window shades, and with Somfy’s PoE Motor Configuration Software, systems integrators can easily configure multiple motor-driven products or devices over IP from a single interface. Plus, safety and control features are built in, including adjustable speed, soft start and stop, and motor position feedback to maintain privacy and security.

“At Somfy, we prioritize flexibility, safety, and scalability for motorized window coverings,” said Dan Niemirka, Senior Product Manager of Motors and Accessories at Somfy. “The Sonesse 40 PoE motor is our strongest and latest innovation that supports the evolving needs of our customers by providing them the unique advantages of Power over Ethernet, as well as direct third-party integrations and control.”

By utilizing PoE, the Sonesse 40 motors offer systems integrators a more reliable hardwired, economical, and convenient alternative to traditional radio wireless battery-powered solutions. There is no need for charging or eventual replacement of batteries.

Somfy PoE motors are powered by a reliably secure protocol that employs modern security and encryption standards. With intelligent power delivery, PoE is designed to protect network equipment from power overloads as well as underpowering, and even incorrect installations. IEEE standards ensure the Power Source Equipment senses and delivers the correct negotiated power to powered devices.
