Screen Innovations Showcases Value, Versatility, and Installation Ease at InfoComm 2023

SI builds on a 20-year projection screen legacy to deliver integrators a wide range of large-format display options to suit the size, scope, and requirements of any commercial project.

Austin, TX (May 25, 2023) — Screen Innovations celebrates 20 years as a leading provider of design- and installation-friendly projection screens at InfoComm 2023 with a focused showcase of the remarkable evolution of several award-winning products. SI’s longevity in the systems integration industry begins with a demonstration of one of its oldest, most revered display solutions still widely used today, Black Diamond. At the other end of the evolutionary timeline is the newest member of the SI family, the technologically advanced, aesthetically pleasing Solo 3 motorized projection screen. Combined with other screen solutions in the SI portfolio, these standouts support the unique installation and performance requirements of a competitive commercial market and afford professional AV integrators the flexibility and versatility to customize systems perfectly for every application.

“As technology progresses and the needs of systems integrators change rapidly, SI is constantly developing new solutions that make a real impact in the marketplace. This commitment is reflected in our range of products,” says SI International Sales Manager Shannon Gustafson. “Whether an integrator needs a projection screen for a museum, large entertainment venue, bar or lounge, college campus, house of worship, or other commercial environments; needs to power the cassette motor with batteries or low-voltage wire; or has certain design and space constraints, SI has the right solution.”

SI Sets a New Standard in Projection Screen Design and Installation with Solo 3
Displayed prominently in InfoComm booth #1282 is SI’s newest motorized screen cassette, Solo 3. Featuring advanced technology and multiple mounting and power options, the slim, discreet footprint of Solo 3 accommodates SI’s vast array of projection screen materials, including, rear projection, ultra-short-throw, and ambient light rejection (ALR). At InfoComm SI pairs a lithium battery-powered Solo 3 cassette with a 100-inch ultra-short-throw, ambient light rejecting screen material. This configuration is well-suited for applications such as corporate boardrooms, higher-ed classrooms, and training facilities where the audience needs light to view reference materials. Attendees can see how SI differentiates its Solo 3 cassette and screens through the use of several trend-setting features that exude a clean modern aesthetic, enable reliable performance, streamline installation, and withstand wear and tear in the most challenging of commercial environments.

SI Black Diamond Screen – The Legacy Continues
Screen Innovations celebrates 20 years as a leading manufacturer of revolutionary projection screen solutions at InfoComm 2023 by highlighting the product that started it all—Black Diamond. One of the first ambient light rejecting screen materials available, Black Diamond helped integrators broaden their scope of business by delivering uncompromised brightness, clarity, and contrast in environments where it had historically been challenging to achieve this level of performance. Breaking barriers in projection screen integration, the legacy Black Diamond symbolizes SI’s ongoing commitment to providing the types of technologies and problem-solving screen and shade solutions they need to stay current and cutting edge. A reflection of this is SI’s InfoComm demonstration of a Black Diamond screen paired with its ultra-modern fixed Zero Edge Pro fixed frame. Featuring a thin, sleek 0.5-inch bezel, Zero Edge Pro adds a stylish twist to this premiere ALR projection material, as well as SI’s many other projection fabrics. One of the biggest selling features of a Black Diamond screen with a Zero Edge Pro frame is cost. Integrators can offer their customers a 120-inch Black Diamond screen (including a projector) for less than today’s largest 98-inch LED display.

SI FlexGlass and Black Diamond Film—Innovative Solutions for Specialty Applications
Screen Innovations provides InfoComm 2023 attendees with a video presentation of new applications and business opportunities enabled by the remarkable installation versatility and performance virtues of its unique rear-projection screen materials FlexGlass and Black Diamond Film. These extraordinary, highly customizable imaging solutions give integrators viable alternatives to traditional projection systems for particularly challenging and specialty applications. FlexGlass is lightweight, durable, and bendable, boasts a low profile of just 2-1/2 millimeters thick, and is available in sizes up to 30,785 millimeters wide by 2,616 millimeters tall. These features make it well-suited for digital signage, projection blending, and projects that require a curved screen. SI’s Black Diamond Film, meanwhile, adheres like window tint to any rigid surface, making it extremely adaptable and applicable for a wide range of projects.

Due to their ultra-thin and flexible yet durable compositions, FlexGlass and Black Diamond Film can be configured and shaped in a variety of ways for complex and specialty applications. Plus, they can be rolled up for shipping and delivery to the job site, minimizing the cost and labor typically incurred when shipping and handling a standard rigid rear-projection screen.

SI Nano 2 Shade Controls Incoming Light for Enhanced Screen Performance
Screen Innovations continues to push design and technological boundaries with a new and improved Nano 2. This smart, stylish, motorized window shade solution helps integrators better control light in a room by minimizing screen glare caused by sunlight, making it a great add-on sale for projection environments that need a way to better manage natural light.

Nano 2 embodies a suite of revolutionary new features in direct response to requests from dealers and maintains the same sleek, modern aesthetic that has made the Nano line a favorite among systems integrators.

A feature especially helpful to integrators is Nano 2’s removable front cover, which provides easy access to the motor, technology, and fabric inside the cassette. Leveling adjustments, maintenance, and fabric swaps during a remodel can be handled effortlessly, as well, without detaching the cassette from the window. Other refinements enable smoother, quieter raising and lowering of the shade and quicker programming and integration with other 485-controlled devices.

The new Nano 2 matches the design of SI’s original Nano cassette, lending a clean, consistent aesthetic in projects where both versions are employed. For an extra sleek aesthetic, many integration pros are now pairing SI’s Nano 2 motorized shades with SI’s Solo 3 motorized projection screens.

Kordz Adds Longer Passive HDMI Cables to its PRS and PRO Ranges

New industry-leading 4K and 8K passive HDMI cables from Kordz extend AV signal transmission from 5 meters up to 9 meters, giving systems integrators a viable alternative to active HDMI cable.

May 25, 2023 – Kordz, a renowned leader in HDMI cabling, continues to evolve its range to keep pace with the needs of systems integrators with the introduction of passive HDMI cable in longer lengths. Now available in both Kordz PRO and PRS ranges are passive 4K and 8K HDMI cables measuring up to 9 meters. This is a significant increase from the common 5-meter length of most passive 4K and 8K HDMI cables. In addition to nearly doubling signal transmission distance, Kordz’s new 4K PRO3-HD and 8K PRS4-HD passive HDMI cables simplify installation for systems integrators, due in part to the absence of active electronics. These and other Kordz cabling solutions make their InfoComm 2023 debut at the Future Ready Solutions booth #3454.

Now the AV industry’s longest Ultra High Speed certified 8K passive HDMI cable designed for professional integrators at 9 meters, the PRS4-HD delivers 48G and is also available from 0.5 meters up to new 7 meters. The PRO3-HD 4K passive HDMI cable delivers 18G and supports 4K HFR from 0.5 meters up to new 7 meters and 9 meters.

The extra length of both the PRO3-HD and PRS4-HD HDMI cable affords systems integrators greater installation flexibility, and the absence of active electronics that can break down over time enhances performance reliability and longevity. Systems integrators gain the confidence and peace of mind of HDMI cabling that supports current AV technology and can withstand the frequent and prolonged bending that happens; for example, when a connected TV extends and swivels on an articulating bracket. Unlike active HDMI cable which has been affected by a global shortage in chipsets, the passive PRO3-HD and PRS4-HD cables are readily available.

“One of the main tenets of Kordz is providing the integration community with the right cabling products at the right time, and the time is now for a longer-length passive HDMI cable. The increasing adoption of high-end AV systems in a wide range of commercial environments necessitates it,” says James Chen, Kordz Managing Director. “We extended the 4K and 8K transmission distance of our PRO3 and PRS4 ranges to a maximum of 9 meters for just this reason. Systems integrators are no longer limited by the length of the cable in the design and implementation of high-end AV systems.”

Kordz Facilitates Faster, Easier Installation of Cat6 Networks
Kordz is setting a new standard in Cat6 network cabling design and installation with its new multi-award-winning, professional, high-performance networking solution PRO SlimCat™ Network Cable System. Measuring half the cross-sectional area of conventional 23AWG and 24AWG network cable, the 4mm PRO SlimCat™ Cable streamlines installation, especially in high-density and retrofit projects, and can reach places that other cables can’t. Systems integrators can deploy small- and medium-size networks quickly, confidently, and profitably, using less conduit and with fewer complications often encountered by bulkier, more rigid Cat6 cabling options. Kordz’s next-generation PRO SlimCat™ Cat6 cable is as robust as it is thin and flexible, supporting 100W PoE++ and delivering 1Gbps network connectivity up to 50 meters. Complementing the Kordz PRO SlimCat™ Network Cable are matching PRO SlimCat™ RJ45 Crimp Connector and PRO SlimCat™ RJ45 Keystone Socket to provide compact end-to-end ANSI-TIA-58.2-D Category 6 permanent link performance. Like all Kordz products, each component of the Kordz PRO SlimCat™ Network Cable System has been individually tested during each phase of production for quality assurance, comes with a lifetime warranty, and complies with both EU and US fire rating standards.

Kordz Adds Longer Active and Passive HDMI Cable to its PRS and PRO Ranges
A renowned leader in HDMI cabling, Kordz continues to evolve its range to keep pace with the needs of systems integrators with the introduction of passive HDMI cables in longer lengths. Now available in both Kordz PRO and PRS ranges are passive HDMI cables measuring 7 and 9 meters. The long passive cables push the engineering envelope to deliver performance without the complication of active electronics in the head shells at either end of the cable. This minimizes installation complexity and improves the reliability and longevity of the cable. Because the passive cables require no onboard electronics, Kordz is able to provide a lifetime warranty. In addition to installation benefits, the new longer-length passive HDMI cables enable trendsetting, future-ready AV performance. The PRO3 passive HDMI cable delivers 18G and supports 4K HFR; the PRS4 delivers 48G and is Ultra High-Speed Certified for the support of 8K.
