Leon Brings Sound + Style to CEDIA 2019 with Art-Inspired Innovations

With a new booth design that feels more like an art gallery than a trade show booth, Leon continues to set themselves apart by bringing creativity to the AV industry.

[Ann Arbor, MI] – August 13, 2019 – Continuing to push the boundaries of merging design with technology, Leon is bringing a creative approach to their CEDIA booth (#2943) this year that will inspire integrators and interior designers alike. Featuring products from their collection that deliver sound and style, their booth will be set up with an art-gallery-style layout, showcasing their customizable speakers for indoor and outdoor use, Media Décor TV frames and Moving Art Screens, their full line of design-friendly integration solutions for Sonos®, and of course, the company’s restored 1967 Airstream—with a new biophilic design.

Products Not to Miss:

Ente for SONOS AMP: Launched earlier this year, Leon’s new Ente Series was designed in partnership with Sonos as a line of lifestyle products powered by the SONOS AMP®. On display will be the Ente Sound Sculpture, a wall-hanging sculptural piece that incorporates sound and lighting, the Ente Soundbar that features a sleek Baltic Birch cabinet and a stylized center grill, and the Ente SoundTile that conceals the speakers and amplifier behind an artwork grill. The Ente SoundTiles on display at CEDIA will feature custom artwork from New-York artist Gabriel Urist and photographs from famed music photographer Roberto Rabanne.

Edge Media Frame: Inspired by midcentury media furnishings, Leon’s Edge Media Frame encases any TV and soundbar in one simple design that frames all sides of the display and is finished to match the design elements in any room. At this year’s show, Leon will be showing a number of Edge options in a variety of custom finishes, including a new model that incorporates their Profile Series sidemount speakers and linear metal bar grills.

The Redesigned Terra LuminSound—Outdoor Sound + Lighting in One: Incorporating LED lighting and sound in one compact, waterproof enclosure, Leon’s Terra LuminSound provides adjustable path or landscape lighting with aimable, high-fidelity sound. Perfect for pool areas, pathways, and more, the redesigned models have a sleek new look that features a streamlined aluminum enclosure and a hexagonal mount plate.

Décor Grills: Completely rethinking the grill, Leon’s Décor Grills allow integrators to seamlessly blend speakers into any environment. Décor Grills can incorporate custom fabrics and materials, or they can be custom-painted to match any color, or custom-printed with patterns, textures, and even logos and graphics

With extensive industry experience and a passion for design and technology, Price brings fresh insight and a strong design vision to Leon’s leadership team.

[Ann Arbor, MI] – May 22, 2019 – Leon Speakers announced today that they have added a new member to their leadership team, Melissa Price, former CEO of dPOP, a Detroit-based, commercial interior design studio that is part of Dan and Jennifer Gilbert’s family of over a hundred companies. Melissa will be working as Leon’s Director of Strategy, developing partnerships and continuing to grow Leon’s commercial market share. Her extensive experience working in the interior design, IT, and facilities management fields makes her a natural fit for Leon, a culture-driven company that has been delivering sound and style to the AV industry for over 20 years.

“Vision is important to us at Leon, and in thinking about the future of the company, we knew that design was the way forward. Melissa and I were introduced by a mutual friend and I knew right away that she would be an incredible asset to our team who could help us shape the next chapter of our evolution,” said Noah Kaplan, Leon’s Founder and President.

Price’s experience designing innovative workspaces with dPOP, and before that working as the Facilities Director for Quicken Loans in Detroit, gives her a unique understanding of the common challenges that Leon’s commercial consultants and integrators face. In her new role, she is looking to let her design perspective, technical insight, and experience developing key partnerships guide Leon’s overall strategic vision.

“Leon has done an incredible job defining its position as a thought leader in the industry and my goal is to continue to grow that in an impactful way. I see a lot of opportunity for us in the commercial space and I’m excited to bring my passion for design and technology and my experience working with Fortune 500 companies to help grow the business,” said Price.

Leon Brings Enhanced Sound and Style to Sonos® with Launch of Ente Series

Leon Brings Enhanced Sound and Style to Sonos® with Launch of Ente Series

The new series provides integrators with plug-and-play products that

turn audio into art—all powered by the new SONOS AMP®

[Ann Arbor, MI] – May 22, 2019 – Working in collaboration with Sonos to develop a line of lifestyle products focused around their Amp, Leon Speakers has launched a new series of products that bring the sound and style that they are known for to the Sonos platform. The Ente Series is comprised of three products: the Ente Sound Sculpture, the Ente SoundTile, and the Ente Soundbar—all featuring power by the SONOS AMP and audio by Leon.

“Our Tonecase line has been hugely popular with our dealers and the Ente Series is the next evolution of our solutions for Sonos,” said Noah Kaplan, Leon’s Founder and President. “Ente makes technology concealment easy for integrators, providing a design-friendly, plug-and-play solution that easily integrates into any Sonos system.”

Ente Sound Sculpture

The Ente Sound Sculpture is a wall-hanging sculptural piece that brings sound, light, and form together to create a dynamic entertainment experience. Wave-like, black and white Baltic Birch panels are interspersed between audio channels, creating a one-of-a-kind statement piece that adds both performance and style to the Sonos home or office.

Ente SoundTile

Art and audio in one, Leon’s Ente SoundTile may look like a piece of art, but behind the grill is two channels of reference-grade audio and a SONOS AMP. Chosen artwork is screen-printed onto a perforated metal grill, completely concealing the technology behind it. The Ente SoundTile can be customized to suit any décor and is a great piece for the home or in commercial spaces like lobbies and reception areas.

Ente Soundbar

While it’s often the goal for speakers to blend in, products like the Ente Soundbar are designed to keep the audio on display. Perfect for mounting below a TV, this Sonos-powered soundbar has a unique aesthetic that features a handcrafted Baltic Birch cabinet with exposed, raw edges and a stylized center grill.

The Ente Series is now available to order for Leon’s network of dealers worldwide. Learn more about the Ente Series on Leon’s website.

“The conversation can’t just be about audio anymore,” said Noah Kaplan, Leon’s President and Founder. “It used to be enough to just have great sounding speakers, but people expect more now. They want something that doesn’t feel like a commodity. We believe that custom homes need real custom options, and it is—and has always been—our mission to deliver that.”

Leon Brings Design to the Forefront with New Products and Partnerships at CEDIA Expo 2018

Ann Arbor, MI – (August 20, 2018) – Continuing to lead the conversation on the importance of blending design with technology, Leon Speakers will be introducing a new suite of products at the 2018 CEDIA Expo (booth #5401) that do just that. Partnering with some of the biggest brands in the industry, Leon’s new innovations were designed to pair perfectly with some of today’s most popular AV products, giving integrators new and creative possibilities to bring to their clients.

Leon’s entire booth will have a strong focus on design—from the products themselves to the custom artwork on the walls to their decked-out 1967 Airstream. They’re looking to expand their vision of “mixing art with audio and design with technology” beyond just their own product line, bringing streamlined design solutions to other industry manufacturers’ products. “This year for CEDIA, we decided to dive in for radical transformation of modern audio. We’ve been working closely with our industry partners to provide highly artistic pieces that will redefine American home audio,” said Noah Kaplan, Leon’s President & Founder.

Among the new products being shown is a collection of Sound Sculptures that was developed after their Lena Sound Sculpture (shown above) won a prestigious BORN Award this past Spring. This new Sound Sculpture line will be production-ready, offering a variety of standard sizes, designs, and pricing. Leon will also be debuting Terra’s portfolio of outdoor speakers (below) in their booth for the first time following their acquisition of the company earlier this year. The merger dramatically expands Leon’s outdoor capabilities, adding over a dozen all-climate, IP67-rated speakers, subwoofers, and outdoor sound & lighting solutions to their current product offering.

Also on display will be speakers from Leon’s UX, ULTIMA, and SEVEN product families, their popular line of Tonecase products for Sonos, and their high-end TV concealment solutions by Media Décor, a Leon company.
